Here's a shot of my new deff rolla... I'm in the process of magnetizing it, and will post an article once that's done.
A blog mostly about Warhammer 40,000 and Fantasy with a focus on painting and tutorials.
Nobz mob part 3
Here's the next three nobz (4-6 of 9). Note; the last one pictured is getting something for his back, its just not done yet.
Nob 4: 'Eavy Armor
Another AOBR nob with a couple armor plates from the nobz mob sprues to count as the 'eavy armor.

Yep, another AOBR nob with his arms swapped with some from the nobz spure.

Artificer Cup part 2
Well, good news and bad news from the local painting competition. Good news is that the Skullhamma won the open catagory. Bad news is that I wasn't able to get to the gamesworkshop in time to see everybody else's entries. Apparently they had a table full of models and it was hotly contested. That was good news, as nobody wants to win by default. Anyway, my prize was a Kaptin Badrukk blister, which I unfortunately already have. I'll have to try to trade it with someone else out there.
Here's a couple pictures of the twin linked big shootas I finished before I entered the competition. Now that I've figured out an easy way to make these I'm going to have to make up a bunch of deffkoptas with them.
Nobz mob part 2
Here's individual pictures of the first 3 nobz (of 9).
Nob 1: Power Klaw, Waaagh Banner
This nob is an AOBR nob with his slugga arm traded for a power klaw and his choopa converted into the waaagh banner. It was made with a plastic rod and a bit from the stompa kit.
Nob 2: Power Klaw, Boss Pole
Nob 3: Power Klaw
Artificer Cup
My (semi) local Gamesworkshop is having a painting contest this weekend. Only 5 catagories, 4 of which I have entered (the 5th is young bloods). Here's the models I've endered:
Ghazghkull (single model), Nobz mob (Squad), Goff Battle wagon (Vehicle), and Skullhamma (open catagory). The value of the prizes will depend on the number of entries, but I think I have a decent chance of winning something decent. I pulled off a $50 gift certificate with the armies on parade contest last month.
Since I wanted the Skullhamma finished for this entry I finally finished the heavy bolter to big shoota conversion. I'll post a how-to later on that one.
Here's the models ready to be transported:

Paint a Stompa part 5
Here's what the head of my stompa is looking like these days. I decided to do it green since the stompa is meant to be an effigy to either Gork or Mork. The base was black with bolt gun highlights. Ork Hide Shade was stippled/dry brushed, then Snot Green, Goblin Green and Scorpion Green. The horns aren't done yet, but they'll be a bone colour.

Nobz mob
Here's a finished nobz mob I've been working on. There are a couple small details left to paint, but they are almost done. They are all differently equiped to maximize wound allocation, WYSIWYG. I have a 2nd edition painboy that I'm using (not pictured), but hopefully soon I grab one of the new ones and paint him up.
A note on the checkers... I've switched my method of doing these now. I used to start with a white base and paint black on it, now I'm doing the opposite... black base then light grey checkers, then white highlights. So far I'm liking this method a lot more, its easier, faster and looks pretty good in the end. I'll post individual pictures soon.

Paint a stompa part 4
Some more progress on my Stompa. I've added some highlights to the checkers, covered the over spray and painted some other checkers free hand.

Troll - MWG August death match
Here's some pictures of a Troll I did for a painting deathmatch over at miniwargaming.com. I did the base colours of the skin with my airbrush and the details by hand.
Paint a stompa part 2
Here's a few more pictures of the progress I've made.
Masking out a checker pattern:

I made the squares by laying out the tape on a cutting mat then transfering the squares over to the model.

I've been getting my stompa ready for up an upcoming apocalypse game, and last night started airbrushing some details. Here's a couple pictures:

More Skullhamma Pics
Here's a couple more pictures, this time of what it looked like before I painted it.
