A blog mostly about Warhammer 40,000 and Fantasy with a focus on painting and tutorials.
Goblin Skarsnik Video
Here's the video that goes along with the pics I took of Skarsnik and Gobbla when I was painting them.
30% off sale, and Canada Post is back!
Hot on the heels of Canada Post's return to work, Miniwargaming.com, is having a 30% off sale. Matthew, the owner, is turning 30, so he's having a 30% off sale. You can check out the video for more details.

Tracks for Trukk conversion
I've had some questions about what tracks I used... here's some pics of the box. The Dragon kit number is 3814, M-4 HVSS Running Gear w/T-80 Track Set, 1:35 Quartermaster series. You don't need this exact set, any one that comes with the running gear would work. I only used this one because I found it on sale somewhere a long time ago.

Jungle Bases Video
A how-to video of those jungle bases I did. Nothing too fancy, but I walk through all the steps I took.
Skarsnik and Gobbla wip
Skaven Plague Monks
Here's some pics of the Plague Monks some people noticed on my desk. I had started these before the finecast release, and they got sidelined for a little while. Well, they're done now and the video is uploading (will post that soon). I did the plague furnace a while back... article can be found here

Finished Trukk Conversion pics
Here's some finished pics of the Trukk Conversion project. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out even though I had some doubts when I was building it.
The mud on the tracks was done with Liquitex Texture Gel Resin Sand (from an art store). I stippled some scorched brown all over it then drybrushed with the reaper desert sand triad.

More Trukk Conversion pics
Working my way through painting this. Its actually going fairly quickly, but I haven't had a ton of time to devote to is (watching the Stanley Cup). Anyway, here's a few more pics.
I did the yellows with foundations and am adding some paint chips in a similar way to the blood angels, except this time with Reaper Lemon yellow, GW dark Flesh, then some silvers.

Ork Trukk conversion (tracks)
Here's a project I started a year ago, but only now am painting it. I took a set of tracks from a 1/35th sherman scale model and swapped them for the Trukk's wheels. I ended up increasing the length about an inch, but since I don't really play tournaments that shouldn't matter.
Here it is with a black base and some silver drybrushing:

Finecast Calgar start to finish
Here's the full set of videos all in one place. It took longer than expected to get these uploaded, but here you are. The first video is shorter at 4 minutes, but the rest are about 8 minutes each. That's down from about 2.5 hours of raw footage.
Finecast Calgar Part 3
Here's the 3rd installment. Sorry this is taking so long... uploading such large files is a little time consuming.
Finecast Marneus Calgar Painting Tutorial Part 2
Here's the 2nd of 5 parts. Each of these will be about 8 minutes in length.
Finecast Marneus Calgar video Part 1
Here's the first part. I'll be posting the rest as they compile and upload. I've got about 2.5 hours of HD footage that I have to piece together, add captions and speed up to 4x. The rest of the videos will be on my painting rig (white background and centred mini).
Finecast Marneus Calgar Complete
I just finished this guy, and am in the process of compiling all the video I shot while painting him. I basically followed the GW Masterclass article for Captain Sicarius and improvised a little with Reaper paints. I'm pretty happy with how he turned out and am curious to see how the video works out as well. I used my video painting rig after I finished the base colours, so its a bit harder to do all the details that way. In other words, its awkward and I'm not using my normal lights, so I'm making excuses for some of the blending. Otherwise I'm happy with how he turned out as well as the finecast details.

Skaven Warp Lightening Video
I've been working hard on finishing of my finecast video, but in the mean time here's the Warp Lightening Cannon kit that I painted up.
