A blog mostly about Warhammer 40,000 and Fantasy with a focus on painting and tutorials.
Orks v. Space Wolves
Here's some pictures of my Kan Wall versus my brother's Space wolves in a battle we had over Christmas. We're playing in my parent's basement, where it all started with 1st edition. We used my modular table (from previous posts) and some other scenery I've painted up. Fun game, nice to try out my kan wall, and it was successful.
Orc boyz and Animosity Orcs
Another one from the archive. I hadn't uploaded this video before, so here you go. I used the animosity orcs as unit fillers as well as some other stuff. I also used some of the boar boyz weapons to help change things up a little.
Arachnarok Painting video
Here's the follow up to the assembly of the Arachnarok... the painting video. To save time on the spider I airbrushed the base coat, and I think it worked out well. All the spider webs took forever, so it ended up being quite the project. In hind sight I wish I hadn't done the flinger option, but I'll just make it count-as the vanilla one.
Firebelly WIP 2
Here's some pictures of the object source lighting from the flames. I used reaper paints to accomplish this, and I think it turned out pretty well. The majority of it was done with Marigold Yellow and then I added some highlights with Sun Yellow and Lemon Yellow. These went on nice and transparent, so I'm pretty happy with the result.

Azhag Painting tutorial
In the trend lately, I found another older video that isn't in my main feed... so I remastered it and here you go. Its a metal model and I show how I pinned it, so its not as necessary for the new finecast version, but you could still pin it. Nice model, great centre piece, but expensive and not super competitive.

Ironblaster Assembly video
Here's another Ogre Kingdom video showing how I assembled the new Ironblaster kit. I have since primed it and added it to the painting queue... hopefully to complete soon. Its a long video, but I walk through the whole assembly.
Ogre Stonehorn Complete + Painting video
This guy took some time to finish, but I'd say it was well worth it. Lots of cool details, and an amazing model overall. I used basically the same pallet as the Ogre Ironguts I did a while back, and I'm going to use the same colours for my whole Ogre army to get some unity. I really like using the Reaper brown triads, as I can get subtle differences consistently without having to worry about mixing things. Some of the inspiration came from http://fantasygames.com.pl/blog/ogre-kingdoms-stonehorn/, which was also featured on the GW site. I like the colour combination of fur and blue/black. I like the snow effect he does, but am not going with that look for my Ogres.
I used Army painter tufts for the base, which are basically the same as the new GW ones... although I want of pick some of those up to compare. I also magnetized the hunter's weapon arm to allow switching between options. Everything else is glued in place.

Conversion tutorial: Big Mek with KFF
Here's the finished guy and video of how I did it. This was originally inspired by a post on Dakka Dakka with some different kit bashed Big Meks with Kustom Force fields.
The parts I used included some bits from the battle wagon kit, Leman Russ, Bastion and mek from the loota box. Click through to see the video.

Ogre Stonehorn WIP
Here's some work in progress shots of the new Ogre Kingdoms Stonehorn. It a wicked model, and is actually painting up fairly nicely. I'm using lots of the reaper browns for various parts and I really like how they are turning out. I have been away from the painting table for a little while due to Christmas and New Year's events, but I hope to get back into the swing of things soon.
I magnetized the hunter's weapon arm because I couldn't decide. I might magnetize him as well... still thinking about that.
