DIY Devlin Mud
Ok, so we all know Devlin mud is talent in a bottle... so I'm a little inspired to try and replicate that in a DIY form. Over on Dakkadakka.com there is an article about using Paynes Grey liquitex paint to make a replacement for Badab black (ink wash). So, I'm giving Burnt umber a try. I have the soft body Liquitex paint, some flow improver and distilled water. I think the Devlin mud has some black in it, so I added what I had. My results aren't quite conclusive, but I think I'm on to something. I gave my giant a coat of it to evaluate.

So what're your thoughts on how it compares to Devlan Mud?
ReplyDeleteThe best thing about the GW washes is that they go where they are supposed to go, and don't pool up in unnatural places.
