My collection showcase - Christmas special

Merry Christmas everybody.  Here's a look at the current state of my painted collection.  I'm only showing what I have painted, but its a lot of stuff.  Hope you enjoy it.

Dreadfleet painting: Seadrake

And now the final ship for Dreadfleet... the High Elf Seadrake.  Nothing too fancy here... but boy am I glad to have this done.  Now back to 40k and fantasy projects.

Dreadfleet Painting Complete!

Wow, that took a while.  I have finally finished painting the whole Dreadfleet box and made videos of the whole process.  I'll post pics of each of the parts here, but two more videos will still be posted (they will be at http://www.miniwargaming.com/channel/ptgraham/ and http://www.youtube.com/user/MrWatchingpaintdry

It was a fun adventure, and I'm glad to have the whole set painted, but I wish I had done it a little faster.  Perhaps this will motivate me to paint up the rest of my space hulk set.

Anyway, here's some pics of each of the completed parts.  Now that this is done I'm open to new projects... any suggestions?  Please leave a comment below.

Dreadfleet: Shadewraith

I'm getting close... just two more ships after this one.  I hope to put some game play videos up before Christmas as they have been requested.  I'll work on those once the painting is complete... you wouldn't want to see any unpainted stuff, would you?

Dreadfleet: Grimnir's Thunder

Oops, I forgot to post this with all the stuff I've been posting the last couple weeks.  Here's the dwarf ship from dreadfleet.  Nothing too fancy, and the video is after the break.

Dreadfleet: Black Kraken

Past half-way now, and just a few more remaining.  This one was pretty simple to paint, but is one of the most interesting ships in the set.  Paints and video after the break.

Dreadfleet Black Kraken WIP

Here's some WIP shots for the Black Kraken from Dreadfleet. I'm over the half way point with the main ships now, and hopefully will wrap this up soon. I used the grey over highlight then black wash for the hull, and am pretty happy with that.

Swordfysh WIP

Here's some work in progress shots of my latest Dreadfleet ship.  I'm finding that these are speeding up, so while I'm still releasing a video once a week I have time to squeeze extra projects in between (just finished some Ogre Ironguts).

Dreadfleet Painting: Curse of Zandri

Here's my latest painting video from Dreadfleet.  I'm slowly working my way through all the ships (Swordfysh is next).  Paint list and video after the break.

Dreadfleet Painting: Flaming Scimitar

Here's my latest finished ship from Dreadfleet: the Flaming Scimitar. It was fairly striaghtforward to paint, its just a shame that you can't see the second sail since the detail turned out quite well. Anyway, video and paints are after the break.

Dreadfleet Painting: Scenery

Here's the scenery all painted up. Now I have everything ready for the first mission... now I just have to find time to play. Also, I picked up the Battle Foam trays for Dreadfleet. They are my first battle foam products, and I'm pretty happy with them. The two comments I'd say about it are that it sticks up more than an inch (more than I think they advertise 3/4") and some of the parts are hard get out because the trays are quite deep. Perhaps I'll do a separate review of that later.

Anyway, the scenery (video and paints after the break)

Mention on GW's what's new today!

Whoot... I uploaded some of my pics to the GW flickr pool and just had one of them featured in the What's New Today article:
http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/content/blogPost.jsp?aId=18500074a

I've just finished all the scenery and tokens, so I'm all set to play the first scenario with fully painted models. Hopefully I'll have time to do that this weekend.

This is the pic...

Bloody Reaver Painted (Dreadfleet)

Here's the second ship I've painted from Dreadfleet... the Bloody Reaver. It painted up much quicker than the Heldenhammer, but has more colours to contend with. Go figure. All the paints are shown at the bottom of this article, and I explain the process in the embedded video.

Dreadfleet Bloody Reaver WIP

Here's some work in progress shots of the Bloody Reaver. I'm following the white dwarf painting article again... although this one isn't as complete as the Heldenhammer article. No worries, the 360 views gw has provided are a big help.

Heldenhammer painted (Dreadfleet)

Just finished the Heldenhammer ship from Dreadfleet. I used the painting guide from White Dwarf almost exactly and am pretty happy with the results. Its a lot of work to get this painted since there are so many different colours and details on the model.

I used mostly GW paints... lots of foundations and washes. The paints are at the bottom of this post (I'm gathering stuff for the video tutorial now). *edit* Video has been uploaded and is included after the break.

Dreadfleet painting wip

Here's some pictures of the Heldenhammer as I paint it up. I'm following the painting guide from White Dwarf. I highly recommend this issue for anyone who picked up Dreadfleet.

Dreadfleet Scenery Assembly video

Here's all the scenery from the dreadfleet box. I figured I'd assemble it first since I'd need it for any games I was going to play. It should be pretty easy to paint, so I might even start with it as well.

Dreadfleet Unboxing Video

Here's the new box with all its goodies. It hasn't sold out quite like Spacehulk, but I'd say the contents have been produced to a similar very high quality level.

If you're getting an error message below you can watch the video here:
