Painboys side by side

I've just finished taking pictures of the new Painboy for the painting tutorial, and I thought I'd grab a couple of the older Painboy models off my shelf to compare.  Obviously the claw hand is huge, but the rest of him is a little more heroic scale than the previous painboy and the mad doc.

I'll post more pics of the new finished painboy once I have the tutorial finished.

  1. Love how you post so many size comparisons. It's insanely useful for those of us who like to modify and convert. Thanks so much! New painboy is a giant compared to the old guy! Though I have to say I like the older model better. The claw on the big one just seems wildly out of proportion.

    1. Thanks... yeah, I find the side by side useful as well. From what I understand the new Mega-nobs are larger, so I'll have to compare them with the old ones and Ghazghkull.

    2. Looking forward to that. They "looked" about 20% taller in the photos. (when shown next to ghazzy). I'm def picking up a box myself (mainly cause their new formation is awesome!)

    4. -Daniel, yes, I saw that... Orks seem to get model size creep and everybody else gets codex creep :)

  3. the level of detail amazed me for a plastic model. The Klaw size is growing on me now I;ve seen it in the flesh, it would have been unfortunate if I hated it since Gavin the model's sculpture is one of my best friends.

    1. Cool, I wonder if he was inspired by some old Paul Bonner artwork.
