Here's some pics of the Eye Bot that Mike from Epic Duck studios has for sale. I don't have a specific use in mind, so I made it rusted and weathered to go with my orks. I'll be making a video of the process shortly.

Skaven Weapons Teams

Island of Blood Prince on Griffin

Here's another video painting tutorial for the Griffin character model that's been getting a lot of attention. Obviously this is a spectacular model, but what's even better is that its plastic, so it won't fall apart or was easy to assemble. I also found him quite easy to paint since there aren't too many different colours.

Killa Kans

I've just finished the article on miniwargaming.com about Killa Kans. I added 3/16" magnets to the arms so all the arms are fully interchangeable. I was really surprised because at the end of it there was nothing left on the sprues... you get one extra gun arm and one extra close combat weapon (without the arm). That's it. I'm not complaining, since you do get 3 kans in a box, and if you get the deff dread as well then you've got plenty of weapons to make competitive builds... but it is a little different.

New Deff Dread

Check this out... the new plastic Ork Deff Dread. I'm assembling and painting it for miniwargaming.com. I'm also magnetizing it so that I can do a couple different configerations. My first impression is that its an amazing kit, and even if you don't want a deff dread its worth buying for all the bitz. I'm working on an article for miniwargaming.com right now that will have the full assembly pics and how I magnetized it.

WIP shots of Logan Grimnar

Last night I was running the painting class at theMiniwargaming store and got a chance to work on Logan and Njal. I've basically finished their armour and started on the fur. I'm using the same paint combination for the fur as I have the rest of my army, which is the same as the one on GW's online how to paint space wolves. I still have to do the bleached bone edging on Logan, and I'll probably do some ink washes, but its starting to come together nicely. Njal still needs a lot of work on the wolf fur.

Apocalyse Game: Tyranid invasion

Well, Saturday's apoc game was a success for me... I managed to distract close to 6000 points of dark angels and Eldar with 3000 points of orks. The game was the finale to a campaign we've been playing at miniwargaming.com. It started with some space hulk missions. This was followed by some city fight missions and then planet strike, all coming to a close with this Apocalypse game. There were 10,000 points of Imperial verses 10,000 points of Tyranids with an additional 3000 points of Orks and Eldar thrown into the mix.

Anyway, my ork army was fairly simple and was only there to serve as a distraction to the imperium.

3000 points:
2 stompas
2 Big meks with Kustom Force Fields
3 Battle wagons with deff rollas and big shootas
1 Skulla Hamma battlefortress
30 ork boyz with nob (Power klaw, boss pole)
19 ork boyz with nob (power klaw, boss pole)
19 ork boyz with nob (power klaw, boss pole)
19 gretchin with runtheard
19 gretchin with runtheard
14 gretchin with runtheard

I ended up having Andrew's 50 death wing terminators teleport in behind me, and Joe's eldar were in front. In the end it was a sort of mutually assured distruction. Both my stompas went Apocalyptic and after all was said and done there were only 2 terminators left. I also made a decent dent in the Eldar.

Campaign part 2 - City fight

After Saturday's Space Hulk games (3 were run at the same time) gears shifted to city fight. Miniwargaming.com built this table for this special event.

Matt and his space marines were paired up against Gary and his Tyranids. The story will be posted over at Miniwargaming.com in the near future, much like their last Apoc game. Here's a couple more pics I took.

Saturday's Apocalyse game

This is what 10,000 points of orks look like. A full battle report will be published (video) over at miniwargaming.com It was a blast, and rewarding to see my 4,000+ points of orks painted and on the battle field. I think I'm going to be shifting gears and starting up my square base orcs and goblins now, but I'm sure there will be plenty of 40k stuff on the go as well. Oh, and Space Hulk.
